But this year it will have a special feature, since for the first time it will have a space to publicize the main tourist destinations of our region, in order to show exhibitors and participants of the exhibition the attractions and services that can be found in the territory.
This action is the result of a joint collaboration with the organization and collaborators of the instance, FISA of the GL events Group and the Chilean Navy, with the Regional Direction of Sernatur Valparaiso, being an important showcase of tourist diffusion, both for the more than 120 participating companies and for the 10 thousand professional visitors, coming from more than 45 countries, that will participate in the event.
Vice Admiral Leonardo Chávez, Director General of the Navy Services, emphasized that “being sponsors of ExpoNaval is very important for the Navy, since internally it allows to increase the professional culture of each of the servants who attend, by having direct contact with the latest advances in each of the areas of naval defense at the international level; and towards the community, this fair will contribute to promote national maritime awareness and the development of national maritime interests, and is an opportunity for the Institution to show not only its capabilities, but also to promote marine scientific research activities, innovation, technological development and renewable and non-polluting alternative energies, and also to make known the Continuous National Shipbuilding Plan, with construction projects currently led by the Institution, proof of which is the already inaugurated, first icebreaker, the Oscar Viel, built in Chile, allowing us to have a greater national presence in Antarctica and which will undoubtedly be present in the port of Valparaiso during the fair”.

We hope to have a solid impact on the region’s economy, for which the alliance with Sernatur is fundamental for the promotion and use of local tourist services that have a high standard, and will have a stand to show the main benefits of the region”.
Finally, Marcelo Vidal, Regional Director of Sernatur, added that “we appreciate and highlight the great opportunity to involve the tourism industry, both the Chilean Navy and FISA. International meetings of this category, in addition to contributing to hotel occupancy and spending in the destination, are a showcase for the regional image and, therefore, for Chile. As Sernatur Valparaiso we are already working with the tourism ecosystem in the framework of this meeting to have a presentation at the level of the most touristic region of the country”.
