The Chilean delegation, led by Rodrigo Lobo, Manager of Institutional Relations and Business Development of GL events Chile, and also integrated by Vice Admiral Leonardo Chávez Alvear, General Director of the Chilean Navy Services, represented Expo Naval in various meetings and activities, with a view to the new edition, to be held from December 3 to 6, 2024, at the Passenger Terminal of the Port of Valparaíso.
Among the meetings were meetings with Irine Díaz de Fernández Jove and representatives of Navantia, who will participate in this year’s edition of Expo Naval in Valparaíso. The future of the defense industry was also discussed with naval delegations from Brazil and Colombia at the Cotecmar stand. In addition, a meeting was held with the Portuguese Minister of Defense, Nuno Melo, and Admiral Henrique Gouveia e Melo, Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Navy.
Euronaval 2024, the most important exhibition in the defense and shipbuilding industry, took place from November 4 to 7 in Paris, France, bringing together some 450 exhibitors from 30 countries and more than 150 international delegations. In this space, Expo Naval established key contacts and generated commercial agreements that reinforce its global presence in the naval defense field.
Regarding the visit, Rodrigo Lobo commented that, “our participation in Euronaval has been highly fruitful. We held strategic meetings with international companies and representatives, which will allow us to strengthen this year’s edition of Expo Naval and, in the same way, to project the 2026 version”.
The 13th International Naval Industry Exhibition and Congress for Latin America, Expo Naval 2024, is shaping up to be an event of great relevance for the region and the maritime technology and defense industry, consolidating itself as a key reference in the naval sector.
