The International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE) brought together more than 420 exhibitors from over 45 countries on the north side of the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, holding an aerospace, defense and security exhibition with Latin American recognition. On site and as exhibitors, representatives of ExpoNaval 2022 informed all the details of what will be the “XII International Exhibition and Congress, the most important of the Naval industry in Latin America”. The International Exhibition and Congress of the Naval Industry for Latin America 2022 will be held in an extended space of 14.5 thousand square meters, seeking to be a meeting point for representatives of Navies from more than 35 countries, promoting innovations and technological solutions in naval defense, shipbuilding and maritime security, among others. It is worth mentioning that the fair will have more than 160 exhibiting companies, will have more than 500 business meetings and expects to receive 35 thousand professional visitors. The executive director of ExpoNaval, Rodrigo Lobo, highlighted the importance of returning with this event, noting that “its objective is to reaffirm the important role of the Chilean Navy in Latin America and the world, to exchange experiences, technologies and developments in the naval industry”. “ExpoNaval 2022 is already in full swing for its new version XII, which will be held between November 29 and December 2, at the Valparaiso Port Passenger Terminal. The international meeting will seek to provide a space between the supply and demand of the industry, establishing commercial relations and contact networks, as well as to publicize the innovation and development of the sector”, Lobo pointed out. INAUGURATION The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, together with the Minister of National Defense, Maya Fernández Allende and the Commander in Chief of the Chilean Air Force (FACh), Air General Arturo Merino, led the opening ceremony of the twenty-second edition of the International Air and Space Fair 2022. Within the framework of the event, Minister Maya Fernández and the President of FIDAE, Air Force General Jean Pierre Desgroux Ycaza, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Navy Vice Admiral Yerko Marcic, visited the ExpoNaval stand to learn about the activities that will take place in the next edition of the main naval, defense and security exhibition in Latin America. “We presented all the details of what will be the most important international exhibition and congress of the naval industry in Latin America, inviting them to ExpoNaval 2022, the highest representative of the Ministry of Defense, and the Undersecretary of Defense, Fernando Ayala. We look forward to their presence in November”, said Lobo. At the event, it was informed that ExpoNaval will reaffirm the important role of the Chilean Navy, show local developments in goods, products and services for the industry, introduce new technologies not available in Chile to the market, exchange experiences, technologies and international developments, and provide effective solutions to the Latin American Navies. The ExpoNaval stand was also visited by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Vice Admiral Yerko Marcic, the Executive President of FIDAE, General of Aviation (A), Jean Pierre Desgroux, civilian and military authorities, foreign ministers of state, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chile, and managers and representatives of exhibiting companies. Visitors were told that the exhibition will promote innovations and technological solutions in naval defense and maritime security, and will include an International Congress entitled “The Challenges for a Maritime Condition in the 21st Century”. The defense fair, considered the most important in Latin America, is organized by FISA, of the GL Events Group, and contemplates a meeting space between the Latin American Navies, Europe, America, Asia, Oceania and exhibitors from the world defense industry, shipyards, technology, security, telecommunications, among others.
