Considering the success of ExpoNaval 2024, and with a view to its next version in 2026, the emergence of new maritime technologies continues to gain relevance.

It is in this context that Know Hub Chile and the Navy’s Center for Technological Innovation launched the “Desafío Avante 04”, a program whose purpose is to collaborate with different entities and enterprises to innovate and strengthen the technological tools within their organization.

Desafío Avante 04 will be launched in 2020, and the program’s main objectives are to promote science-based entrepreneurship, cooperation and contribution to technological innovation. In this fourth version, collaboration and participation are expected to continue, as the three previous versions have been successful. In fact, all the ventures that previously graduated continue to develop their technologies, with public and private funds.

First Lieutenant Francisca Lema, head of plans at the Chilean Navy’s Center for Technological Innovation, valued the initiative.

“Desafío Avante opened the doors, and gave interviews within the different actors of the institution so that they, through their ingenuity and technological capabilities, could better solve these problems,” he told the official website of the Chilean Navy.

For his part, Taky Parvex, innovation manager of Know Hub Chile, highlighted the participation of various entities.

“The Avante 04 Challenge is not focused on a specific problem of the Navy, but on a strategic industry for the country: shipbuilding and maritime construction. This has allowed us to call on various organizations, institutions and companies as collaborators, broadening the scope of the challenge,” he said.

Applications for the program began on November 29, 2024, and end on March 6, 2025. More information on the project’s website: www.desafioavante.cl
