Exponaval 2024, the international naval and defense industry fair, will be held between December 3 and 6, at the Puerto Valparaiso Passenger Terminal. This event organized by FISA of the GL events group and sponsored by the Chilean Navy, will present an exhibition with more than 100 exhibitors that will be deployed in an area of 12 thousand m2, coming from more than 25 countries.

This meeting aims to become the meeting point for the Armed Forces, suppliers and industry professionals – seeking to strengthen ties and promote technological innovation in defense and maritime security – and will be attended by official delegations from 16 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Uruguay.

In this regard, Francisco Sotomayor, CEO of GL events Chile, emphasized the international presence at Exponaval 2024 and valued the contribution of all the countries.

“We are very pleased with the participation of this year’s delegations. For us it is very important not only to highlight these 16 countries that will accompany us during the fair, but also the 19 admirals that will arrive in Chile, and the commanders-in-chief of Uruguay, Argentina and Peru,” said Sotomayor.

Exponaval 2024 will also offer a broad agenda of meetings between the different international delegations and exhibitors, and will be a space that will promote the exchange of trade and technological solutions in naval defense and maritime security. “There is a general mood to take advantage of this instance to strengthen ties, which for the region is also very important,” added the spokesperson of the organizing company.

Parallel activities

In addition to the exhibition, the meeting will offer a full program of parallel activities aimed at strengthening relations among attendees and generating key networking and collaboration opportunities.

The general program highlights the official inauguration of the event, which will take place on Tuesday, December 3 at 10:30 am. This event will bring together government authorities, local representatives, armed forces, international delegations and industry professionals, marking the beginning of four days of high-level commercial and technical exchange.

Another event of great importance is the Official Reception, which this year will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 3, in an environment designed to foster networking and institutional relations.

In addition, the exhibition will include technical talks given by participating companies and institutions, such as Rohde & Schwarz, SAES and the Universidad Austral de Chile, among others. These instances will allow visitors to learn first-hand about the innovations, technologies and products presented by exhibitors that contribute to the development and strengthening of the sector.

International Congress

In parallel to the exhibition, an international congress will be held under the theme: “Challenges for the defense industry in the new international order”, with the participation of 22 leading national and international experts, including keynote lectures by Admiral (R) James Stavridis, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander (2009-2013), who will participate by videoconference. And Vice Admiral Martin Connell, Second Sea Lord of the British Royal Navy, who will be present on Thursday, December 5.
