Asmar was the protagonist of the Public Account 2024

This Saturday, June 1st, the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, led his third Public Account since he took office in March 2022.

The ceremony lasted two hours and 45 minutes, with a report on the achievements and challenges faced by the Government, where an important announcement on naval matters was highlighted. In his speech, President Boric referred to the work done by the Asmar Shipyards and Shipyards of the Navy (Asmar), which this year launched the Icebreaker Viel, a vessel that was entirely built by the shipyards, which joins the towed Lientur. ‘I have instructed the Minister of Defence, the Minister of Economy and the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy to present me within three months with a National Shipbuilding Policy for the coming years, with Asmar as the leader in a coordination of the capacity of our public and private shipyards,’ said the President.
